1. 호렙에서 이스라엘 자손과 세우신 언약 외에 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하여 모압 땅에서 그들과 세우신 언약의 말씀은 이러하니라

1. These are the terms of the covenant the LORD commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in Moab, in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Horeb.

1。これらは、モアブの地で、主がモーセに命じて、イスラエルの子らと結ばせた契約のことばである。ホレブで彼らと結ばれた契約とは別である。

 

2. 모세가 온 이스라엘을 소집하고 그들에게 이르되 여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 너희의 목전에 바로와 그의 모든 신하와 그의 온 땅에 행하신 모든 일을 너희가 보았나니

2. Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them: Your eyes have seen all that the LORD did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land.

2。モーセはイスラエルをみな呼び寄せて言った。あなたがたは、エジプトの地で、ファラオとそのすべての家臣たちとその全土に対して、主があなたがたの目の前でなさったことをことごとく見た。

 

3. 곧 그 큰 시험과 이적과 큰 기사를 네 눈으로 보았느니라

3. With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those miraculous signs and great wonders.

3。すなわち、あなたが自分の目で見たあの大きな試み、あの大きなしるしと不思議である。

 

4. 그러나 깨닫는 마음과 보는 눈과 듣는 귀는 오늘까지 여호와께서 너희에게 주지 아니하셨느니라

4. But to this day the LORD has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

4。しかし、主は今日に至るまで、あなたがたに悟る心と見る目と聞く耳を与えられなかった。

 

5. 주께서 사십 년 동안 너희를 광야에서 인도하셨거니와 너희 몸의 옷이 낡아지지 아니하였고 너희 발의 신이 해어지지 아니하였으며

5. During the forty years that I led you through the desert, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.

5。私は四十年の間、荒野であなたがたを導いたが、あなたがたが身に着けている上着はすり切れず、その履き物もすり切れなかった。

 

6.  너희에게 떡도 먹지 못하며 포도주나 독주를 마시지 못하게 하셨음은 주는 너희의 하나님 여호와이신 줄을 알게 하려 하심이니라

6. You are no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the LORD your God.

6。あなたがたはパンも食べず、ぶどう酒も強い酒も飲まなかった。それは、「わたしがあなたがたの神、主である」と、あなたがたが知るためであった。

 

7. 너희가 이 곳에 올 때에 헤스본 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥이 우리와 싸우러 나왔으므로 우리가 그들을 치고

7. When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them.

7。あなたがたがこの場所に来たとき、ヘシュボンの王シホンとバシャンの王オグが出て来て、私たちを迎え撃ったが、私たちは彼らを討ち破った。

 

8. 그 땅을 차지하여 르우벤과 갓과 므낫세 반 지파에게 기업으로 주었나니

8. We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadgets and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

8。私たちは彼らの地を取り、これを相続地としてルベン人とガド人と、マナセ人の半部族に分け与えた。

 

9. 그런즉 너희는 이 언약의 말씀을 지켜 행하라 그리하면 너희가 하는 모든 일이 형통하리라

9. Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.

9。あなたがたはこの契約のことばを守り、それを行いなさい。あなたがたのすることがすべて栄えるためである。

 

10. 오늘 너희 곧 너희의 수령과 너희의 지파와 너희의 장로들과 너희의 지도자와 이스라엘 모든 남자와

10. All of you are standing today in the presence of the LORD you God — your leaders and chief men, your elders and officials and all the other men of Israel,

10。今日あなたがたはみな、あなたがたの神、主の前に立っている。すなわち、あなたがたの部族のかしらたち、長老たち、つかさたち、イスラエルのすべての人々、

 

11. 너희의 유아들과 너희의 아내와 및 네 진중에 있는 객과 너를 위하여 나무를 패는 자로부터 물 긷는 자까지 다 너희의 하나님 여호와 앞에 서있는 것은

11. together with your children and your wives, and the aliens living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water.

11。あなたがたの子どもと神、主が今日あなたと結ばれる、あなたの神、主の契約とのろいの誓いとにあなたが入るためであり、

 

12. 네 하나님 여호와의 언약에 참여하며 또 네 하나님 여호와께서 오늘 네게 하시는 맹세에 참여하여

12. You are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the LORD your God, a covenant the LORD is making with you this day and sealing with an oath,

12。それは、あなたの神、主が今日あなたと結ばれる、あなたの神、主の契約とのろいの誓いとにあなたが入るためであり、

 

13. 여호와께서 네게 말씀하신 대로 또 네 조상 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하신 대로 오늘 너를 세워 자기 백성을 삼으시고 그는 친히 네 하나님이 되시려 함이니라

13. to confirm you this day as his people, that he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

13。先に主があなたに約束されたように、またあなたの父祖、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブに誓われたように、今日あなたを立ててご自分の民とし、またご自分があなたの神となられるためである。

 

14. 내가 이 언약과 맹세를 너희에게만 세우는 것이 아니라

14. I am making this covenant, with its oath, not only with you

14。しかし私は、ただあなたがたとだけ、この契約とのろいの誓いを結ぶのではない。

 

15. 오늘 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 우리와 함께 여기 서 있는 자와 오늘 우리와 함께 여기 있지 아니한 자에게까지이니

15. who are standing here with us today in the presence of the LORD our God but also with those who are not here today.

15。今日ここで私たちの神、主の前に私たちとともに立っている者たちとも、今日、私たちとともにここにはいない者たちとも結ぶのである。

 

16. (우리가 애굽 땅에서 살았던 것과 너희가 여러 나라를 통과한 것을 너희가 알며

16. You yourselves know how we lived in Egypt and how we passed through the countries on the way here.

16。事実、あなたがた自身、私たちがエジプトの地に住んでいたこと、また私たちが異邦の民の中を通って来たことをよく知っている。

 

17. 너희가 또 그들 중에 있는 가증한 것과 목석과 은금의 우상을 보았느니라)

17. You saw among them their detestable images and idols of wood and stone, of silver and gold.

17。また、あなたがたは、彼らのところにあった忌むべきもの、すなわち木や石や銀や金の偶像を見た。

 

18. 너희 중에 남자나 여자나 가족이나 지파나 오늘 그 마음이 우리 하나님 여호와를 떠나서 그 모든 민족의 신들에게 가서 섬길까 염려하며 독초와 쑥의 뿌리가 너희 중에 생겨서

18. Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

18。万が一にも、今日その心が私たちの神、主を離れて、これらの異邦の民の神々のもとに行って仕えるような男、女、氏族、部族があなたがたのうちにあってはならない。あなたがたのうちに、毒草や苦よもぎを生じる根があってはならない。

 

19. 이 저주의 말을 듣고도 심중에 스스로 복을 빌어 이르기를 내가 내 마음이 완악하여 젖은 것과 마른 것이 멸망할지라도 내게는 평안이 있으리라 할까 함이라

19. When such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a blessing on himself and therefore thinks, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way.” This will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.

19。こののろいの誓いのことばを聞いたとき、心の中で自分を祝福し、「私は自分の頑なな心のままに歩んでも大丈夫だ」と言うなら、潤った者も渇いた者も等しく滅びることになる。

 

20. 여호와는 이런 자를 사하지 않으실 뿐 아니라 그 위에 여호와의 분노와 질투의 불을 부으시며 또 이 책에 기록된 모든 저주를 그에게 더하실 것이라 여호와께서 그의 이름을 천하에서 지워버리시되

20. The LORD will never be willing to forgive him; his wrath and zeal will burn against that man. All the curses written in this book will fall upon him, and the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven.

20。主はその者を決して赦そうとはされない。むしろ、そのとき、主の怒りとねたみがその者に対して燃え上がり、この書に記されている、すべてののろいの誓いがその者の上にのしかかり、主はその者の名を天の下から消し去られる。

 

21. 여호와께서 곧 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 그를 구별하시고 이 율법책에 기록된 모든 언약의 저주대로 그에게 화를 더하시리라

21. The LORD will single him out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.

21。主は、このみおしえの書に記されている契約の、すべてののろいの誓いにしたがい、その者をイスラエルの全部族から選り分けて、わざわいを下される。

 

22. 너희 뒤에 일어나는 너희의 자손과 멀리서 오는 객이 그 땅의 재앙과 여호와께서 그 땅에 유행시키시는 질병을 보며

22. Your children who follow you in later generations and foreigners who come from distant lands will see the calamities that have fallen on the land and the diseases with which the LORD has afflicted it.

22。後の世代、あなたがたの後に起こるあなたがたの子孫や、遠くの地から来る異国人は、その地の災害と、主がそこで起こされた病気を見て言うであろう。

 

23. 그 온 땅이 유황이 되며 소금이 되며 또 불에 타서 심지도 못하며 결실함도 없으며 거기에는 아무 풀도 나지 아니함이 옛적에 여호와께서 진노와 격분으로 멸하신 소돔과 고모라와 아드마와 스보임의 무너짐과 같음을 보고 물을 것이요

23. The whole land will be a burning waste of salt and sulfur — nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Adman and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in fierce anger.

23。その全土は硫黄と塩によって焼け土となり、種も蒔かれず、芽も出ず、草一本も生えなくなっていて、主が怒りと憤りでくつがえされた、ソドム、ゴモラ、アデマ,ツェボイムの破滅のようなので、

 

24. 여러 나라 사람들도 묻기를 여호와께서 어찌하여 이 땅에 이같이 행하셨느냐 이같이 크고 맹렬하게 노하심은 무슨 뜻이냐 하면

24. All the nations will ask: “Why has the LORD done this to this land? Why this fierce, burning anger?”

24。すべての国々は言うであろう。「何のために、主はこの地にこのようなことをされたのか。この激しい燃える怒りは何なのか。」

 

25. 그 때에 사람들이 대답하기를 그 무리가 자기 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 그들의 조상을 애굽에서 인도하여 내실 때에 더불어 세우신 언약을 버리고

25. And the answer will be: “It is because this people abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, the covenant he made with them when he brought them out of Egypt.

25。人々は言うであろう。「それは彼らが、彼らの父祖の神、主が彼らをエジプトの地から導き出したときに結ばれた契約を捨て、

 

26. 가서 자기들이 알지도 못하고 여호와께서 그들에게 주시지도 아니한 다른 신들을 따라가서 그들을 섬기고 절한 까닭이라

26. They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them.

26。彼らの知らない、また彼らに割り当てられたのでもない、ほかの神々のもとに行って仕え、それらを拝んだからだ。

 

27. 이러므로 여호와께서 이 땅에 진노하사 이 책에 기록된 모든 저주대로 재앙을 내리시고

27. Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against this land, so that be brought on it all the curses written in this book.

27。それで主の怒りがこの地に向かって燃え上がり、この書に記されたすべてののろいが、この地にもたらされたのだ。

 

28. 여호와께서 또 진노와 격분과 크게 통한하심으로 그들을 이 땅에서 뽑아내사 다른 나라에 내던지심이 오늘과 같다 하리라

28. in furious anger and in great wrath the LORD uprooted them from their land and thrust them into another land, as it is now.”

28。主は怒りと憤りと激怒をもって彼らをこの地から根こそぎにし、ほかの地に彼らを投げ捨てられた。今日のとおりに。」

 

29. 감추어진 일은 우리 하나님 여호와께 속하였거니와 나타난 일은 영원히 우리와 우리 자손에게 속하였나니 이는 우리에게 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 행하게 하심이니라

29. The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

29。隠されたいることは、私たちの神、主のものである。しかし現されたことは永遠に私たちと私たちの子孫のものであり、それは私たちがこのみおしえのすべてのことばを行うためである。
