1. 늙은이를 꾸짖지 말고 권하되 아버지에게 하듯 하며 젊은이에게는 형제에게 하듯 하고

1. Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers,

1。年配の男の人を叱ってはいけません。むしろ、父親に対するように勧めなさい。若い人には兄弟に対するように、

 

2. 늙은 여자에게는 어머니에게 하듯 하며 젊은 여자에게는 온전히 깨끗함으로 자매에게 하듯 하라

2. older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

2。年配の女の人には母親に対するように、若い女の人には姉妹に対するように、真に純粋な心で勧めなさい。

 

3. 참 과부인 과부를 존대하라

3. Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.

3。やもめの中の本当のやもめを大事にしなさい。

 

4. 만일 어떤 과부에게 자녀나 손자들이 있거든 그들로 먼저 자기 집에서 효를 행하여 부모에게 보답하기를 배우게 하라 이것이 하나님 앞에 받으실 만한 것이니라

4. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.

4。もし、やもめに子どもが孫がいるなら、まずその人たちに、自分の家の人に敬愛を示して、親の恩に報いることを学ばせない。それが神の御前に喜ばれることです。

 

5. 참 과부로서 외로운 자는 하나님께 소망을 두어 주야로 항상 간구와 기도를 하거니와

5. The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.

5。身寄りのない本当のやもめは、望みを神に置いて、夜昼、絶えず神に願いと祈りをささげていますが、

 

6. 향락을 좋아하는 자는 살았으나 죽었느니라

6. But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.

6。自堕落な生活をしているやもめは、生きてはいても死んでいるのです。

 

7. 네가 또한 이것을 명하여 그들로 책망 받을 것이 없게 하라

7. Give the people these instructions, too, so that no one may be open to blame.

7。彼女たちが非難されることのないように、これらのことも命じなさい。

 

8. 누구든지 자기 친족 특히 자기 가족을 돌보지 아니하면 믿음을 배반한 자요 불신자보다 더 악한 자니라

8. If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

8。もしも親族、特に自分の家族の世話をしない人がいるなら、その人は信仰を否定しているのであって、不信者よりも劣っているのです。

 

9. 과부로 명부에 올릴 자는 나이가 육십이 덜 되지 아니하고 한 남편의 아내였던 자로서

9. No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband,

9。やもめとして名簿に載せるのは、六十歳未満ではなく、一人の夫の妻であった人で、

 

10. 선한 행실의 증거가 있어 혹은 자녀를 양육하며 혹은 나그네를 대접하며 혹은 성도들의 발을 씻으며 혹은 환난 당한 자들을 구제하며 혹은 모든 선한 일을 행한 자라야 할 것이요

10. and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the saints, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.

10。良い行いによって認められている人、すなわち、子どもを育て、旅人をもてなし、聖徒の足を洗い、困っている人を助けるなど、すべての良いわざに励んだ人にしなさい。

 

11. 젊은 과부는 올리지 말지니 이는 정욕으로 그리스도를 배반할 때에 시집 가고자 함이니

11. As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry.

11。若いやもめの登録は断りなさい。彼女たちは、キリストに背いて情欲にかられると、結婚したがり、

 

12. 처음 믿음을 저버렸으므로 정죄를 받느니라

12. Thus they bring judgment on themselves, because they have broken their first pledge.

12。初めの誓いを捨ててしまったと非難を受けることになるからです。

 

13. 또 그들은 게으름을 익혀 집집으로 돌아 다니고 게으를 뿐 아니라 쓸데없는 말을 하며 일을 만들며 마땅히 아니할 말을 하나니

13. Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busy bodies, saying things they ought not to.

13。そのうえ、怠けて、家々を歩き回ることを覚えます。ただ怠けるだけでなく、うわさ話やおせっかいをして、話さなくてよいことまで話すのです。

 

14. 그러므로 젊은이는 시집 가서 아이를 낳고 집을 다스리고 대적에게 비방할 기회를 조금도 주지 말기를 원하노라

14. So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.

14。ですから、私が願うのは、若いやもめは結婚し、子を産み、家庭を治め、反対者にそしる機会をいっさい与えないことです。

 

15. 이미 사탄에게 돌아간 자들도 있도다

15. Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan.

15。すでに道を踏み外し、サタンの後について行ったやもめたちがいるからです。

 

16. 만일 믿는 여자에게 과부 친척이 있거든 자기가 도와 주고 교회가 짐지지 않게 하라 이는 참 과부를 도와 주게 하려 함이라

16. If any woman who is a believer has widows in her family, she should help them and not let the church be burdened with them, so that the church can help those widows who are really in need.

16。もし信者である女の人に、やもめの身内がいるなら、その人がそのやもめを助けて、教会に負担をかけないようにしなさい。そうすれば、教会は本当のやもめを助けることができます。

 

17. 잘 다스리는 장로들은 배나 존경할 자로 알되 발씀과 가르침에 수고하는 이들에게는 더욱 그리할 것이니라

17. The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

17。よく指導している長老は、二倍の尊敬を受けるにふさわしいとしなさい。みことばと教えのために労苦している長老は特にそうです。

 

18. 성경에 일렀으되 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 말라 하였고 또 일꾼이 그 삯을 받는 것은 마땅하다 하였느니라

18. For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”

18。聖書に「脱穀をしている牛に口籠をはめてはならない」、また「働く者が報酬を受けるのは当然である」と言われているからです。

 

19. 장로에 대한 고발은 두세 증인이 없으면 받지 말 것이요

19. Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.

19。長老に対する訴えは、二人か三人の証人がいなければ、受理してはいけません。

 

20. 범죄한 자들을 모든 사람 앞에서 꾸짖어 나머지 사람들로 두려워하게 하라

20. Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.

20。罪を犯している者をすべての人の前で責めなさい。そうすれば、ほかの人たちも恐れを抱くでしょう。

 

21. 하나님과 그리스도 예수와 택하심을 받은 천사들 앞에서 내가 엄히 명하노니 너는 편견이 없이 이것들을 지켜 아무 일도 불공평하게 하지 말며

21. I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism.

21。私は、神とキリスト・イエスと選ばれた御使いたちの前で、あなたに厳かに命じます。これらのことを先入観なしに守り、何事もえこひいきせずに行いなさい。

 

22. 아무에게나 경솔히 안수하지 말고 다른 사람의 죄에 간섭하지 말며 네 자신을 지켜 정결하게 하라

22. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

22。だれにも性急に按手をしてはいけません。また、ほかの人の罪に加担してはいけません。自分を清く保ちなさい。

 

23. 이제부터는 물만 마시지 말고 네 위장과 자주 나는 병을 위하여는 포도주를 조금씩 쓰라

23. Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

23。これからは水ばかり飲まないで、胃のために、また、たびたび起こる病気のために、少量のぶどう酒を用いなさい。

 

24. 어떤 사람들의 죄는 밝히 드러나 먼저 심판에 나아가고 어떤 사람들의 죄는 그 뒤를 따르나니

24. The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them.

24。ある人たちの罪は、さばきを受ける前から明らかですが、ほかの人たちの罪は後で明らかになります。

 

25. 이와 같이 선행도 밝히 드러나고 그렇지 아니한 것도 숨길 수 없느니라

25. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.

25。同じように、良い行いも明らかですが、そうでない場合でも、隠れたままでいることはありません。
