1. 다윗의 아들 이스라엘 왕 솔로몬의 잠언이라

1. The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

1。イスラエルの王、ダビデの子ソロモンの箴言。

 

2. 이는 지혜와 훈계를 알게 하며 명철의 말씀을 깨닫게 하며

2. for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;

2。これは、知恵と訓戒を知り、悟りのことばを理解するため、

 

3. 지혜롭게, 공의롭게, 정의롭게, 정직하게 행할 일에 대하여 훈계를 받게 하며

3. for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;

3。義とさばきと公正において、訓戒を受けて、さとくなるため、

 

4. 어리석은 자를 슬기롭게 하며 젊은 자에게 지식과 근신함을 주기 위한 것이니

4. for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young—

4。浅はかな者を賢くし、若い者に知識と思慮を得させるためのもの。

 

5. 지혜 있는 자는 듣고 학식이 더할 것이요 명철한 자는 지략을 얻을 것이라

5. let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—

5。知恵のある者は聞いて洞察を深め、分別のある者は導きを得る。

 

6. 잠언과 비유와 지혜 있는 자의 말과 그 오묘한 말을 깨달으리라

6. for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

6。こうして、箴言と比喩、知恵のある者のことばと謎を理解する。

 

7. 여호와를 경외하는 것이 지식의 근본이거늘 미련한 자는 지혜와 훈계를 멸시하느니라

7. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

7。主を恐れることは知識の初め。愚か者は知恵と訓戒を蔑む。

 

8. 내 아들아 네 아비의 훈계를 들으며 네 어미의 법을 떠나지 말라

8. Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

8。わが子よ。父の訓戒に聞き従え。母の教えを捨ててはならない。

 

9. 이는 네 머리의 아름다운 관이요 네 목의 금 사슬이니라

9. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

9。それらは、あなたの頭に戴く麗しい花の冠、首にかける飾りだから。

 

10. 내 아들아 악한 자가 너를 꾈지라도 따르지 말라

10. My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.

10。わが子よ。罪人たちがあなたを惑わしても、それに応じてはならない。

 

11. 그들이 네게 말하기를 우리와 함께 가자 우리가 가만히 엎드렸다가 사람의 피를 흘리자 죄 없는 자를 까닭 없이 숨어 기다리다가

11. If they say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul;

11。もし彼らがこう言っても。「一緒に来い。人の血を流すために待ち伏せしよう。咎なき者を、理由なしにひそかに狙い、

 

12. 스올 같이 그들을 산 채로 삼키며 무덤에 내려가는 자들 같이 통으로 삼키자

12. let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;

12。よみのように、彼らを生きたままで呑み込もう。全き者たちを、墓に下る者のようにして。

 

13. 우리가 온갖 보화를 얻으며 빼앗은 것으로 우리 집을 채우리니

13. we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder;

13。値打ちのある物は何でも見つけ出し、奪った物でわれわれの家を満たそう。

 

14. 너는 우리와 함께 제비를 뽑고 우리가 함께 전대 하나만 두자 할지라도

14. throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse”—

14。われわれはくじで分け合い、皆で一つの金入れを持とう。」

 

15. 내 아들아 그들과 함께 길에 다니지 말라 네 발을 금하여 그 길을 밟지 말라

15. my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths;

15。わが子よ。彼らと一緒に道を歩いてはならない。彼らの通り道に、足を踏み入れてはならない。

 

16. 대저 그 발은 악으로 달려가며 피를 흘리는 데 빠름이니라

16. for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood.

16。彼らの足は悪に走り、人の血を流すのに速いからだ。

 

17. 새가 보는 데서 그물을 치면 헛일이겠거늘

17. How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds!

17。網を張るのは無駄なこと。すべて翼あるものの目の前では。

 

18. 그들이 가만히 엎드림은 자기의 피를 흘릴 뿐이요 숨어 기다림은 자기의 생명을 해할 뿐이니

18. These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves!

18。彼らは待ち伏せしているのは自分の血を流すため、隠れ狙っているのは自らのたましい。

 

19. 이익을 탐하는 모든 자의 길은 다 이러하여 자기의 생명을 잃게 하느니라

19. Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.

19。不正な利得を貪る者の道はみな、このような者。それを得る者たちはたましいを取り去られる。

 

20. 지혜가 길거리에서 부르며 광장에서 소리를 높이며

20. Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares;

20。知恵は大通りで叫び、広場でその声をあげ、

 

21. 시끄러운 길목에서 소리를 지르며 성문 어귀와 성중에서 그 소리를 발하여 이르되

21. at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

21。騒々しい街角で叫び、町の門の入り口で、そのことばを語る。

 

22. 너희 어리석은 자들은 어리석음을 좋아하며 거만한 자들은 거만을 기”뻐하며 미련한 자들은 지식을 미워하니 어느때까지 하겠느냐

22. "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

22。「浅はかな者よ、おまえたちは、いつまで浅はかなことを愛するのか。嘲る者は、いつまで嘲ることを欲するのか。分別のない者は、いつまで知識を憎むのか。

 

23. 나의 책망을 듣고 돌이키라 보라 내가 나의 영을 너희에게 부어 주며 내 말을 너희에게 보이리라

23. If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.

23。わたしの叱責に立ち返れ。おまえたちにわたしの霊を注ぎ、わたしのことばを知らせよう。

 

24. 내가 불렀으나 너희가 듣기 싫어하였고 내가 손을 폈으나 돌아보는 자가 없었고

24. But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

24。わたしが呼んだのに、おまえたちは拒んだ。手を差し伸べたのに、耳を傾ける者はなかった。

 

25. 도리어 나의 모든 교훈을 멸시하며 나의 책망을 받지 아니하였은즉

25. since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke,

25。おまえたちはわたしの忠告をすべてなおざりにし、わたしの叱責を一つも受け入れなかった。

 

26. 너희가 재앙을 만날 때에 내가 웃을 것이며 너희에게 두려움이 임할 때에 내가 비웃으리라

26. I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you—

26。わたしも、おまえたちが災難にあうときに笑い、恐怖がおまえたちを襲うとき、あざ笑う。

 

27. 너희의 두려움이 광풍 같이 임하겠고 너희의 재앙이 폭풍 같이 이르겠고 너희에게 근심과 슬픔이 임하리니

27. when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

27。恐怖が嵐のようにおまえたちを襲うとき、災難がつなじ風のようにおまえたちに来るとき、苦難と苦悩がお前たちを襲うとき、

 

28. 그 때에 너희가 나를 부르리라 그래도 내가 대답하지 아니하겠고 부지런히 나를 찾으리라 그래도 나를 만나지 못하리니

28. "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me.

28。そのとき、わたしを呼んでも、わたしは答えない。わたしを探し求めても、見出すことはできなし。

 

29. 대저 너희가 지식을 미워하며 여호와 경외하기를 즐거워하지 아니하며

29. Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD,

29。それは、彼らが知識を憎み、主を恐れることを選ばず、

 

30. 나의 교훈을 받지 아니하고 나의 모든 책망을 업신여겼음이니라

30. since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke,

30。わたしの忠告を受け入れようとせず、わたしの叱責をことごとく侮ったからだ。

 

31. 그러므로 자기 행위의 열매를 먹으며 자기 꾀에 배부르리라

31. they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.

31。それで、彼らは自分の行いの実を食らい、自分が企んだことで腹を満たす。

 

32. 어리석은 자의 퇴보는 자기를 죽이며 미련한 자의 안일은 자기를 멸망시키려니와

32. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

32。浅はかな者の背信は自分を殺し、愚かな者の安心は自分を滅ぼす。

 

33. 오직 내 말을 듣는 자는 평안히 살며 재앙의 두려움이 없이 안전하리라

33. but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

33。しかし、わたしに聞き従う者は、安全に住み、わざわいを恐れることなく、安らかである。」
