1. 온 땅의 언어가 하나요 말이 하나였더라

1. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.

1。さて、全地は一つの話しことば、一つの共通のことばであった。

 

2. 이에 그들은 동방으로 옮기다가 시날 평지를 만나 거기 거류하며

2. As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

2。人々は東の方へ移動したとき、彼らはシンアルの地に平地を見つけて、そこに住んだ。

 

3. 서로 말하되 자, 벽돌을 만들어 견고히 굽자 하고 이에 벽돌로 돌을 대신하여 역청으로 진흙을 대신하고

3. They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

3。彼らは互いに言った。「さあ、れんがを作って、よく焼こう。」彼らは石の代わりにれんがを、漆喰の代わりに瀝青を用いた。

 

4. 또 말하되 자, 성읍과 탑을 건설하여 그 탑 꼭대기를 하늘에 닿게 하여 우리 이름을 내고 온 지면에 흩어짐을 면하자 하였더니

4. Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

4。彼らは言った。「さあ、われわれは自分たちのために、町と、頂が天に届く塔を建てて、名をあげよう。われわれが地の全面に散らされるといけないから。」

 

5. 여호와께서 사람들이 건설하는 그 성읍과 탑을 보려고 내려오셨더라

5. But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

5。そのとき主は、人間が建てた町と塔を見るために降りて来られた。

 

6. 여호와께서 이르시되 이 무리가 한 족속이요 언어도 하나이므로 이같이 시작하였으니 이 후로는 그 하고자 하는 일을 막을 수 없으리로다

6. The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

6。主は言われた。「見よ。彼らは一つの民で、みな同じ話しことばを持っている。このようなことをし始めたのなら、今や、彼らがしようと企てることで、不可能なことは何もない。

 

7. 자, 우리가 내려가서 거기서 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하자 하시고

7. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

7。さあ、降りて行って、そこで彼らのことばを混乱させ、互いの話しことばが通じないようにしよう。」

 

8. 여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨으므로 그들이 그 도시를 건설하기를 그쳤더라

8. So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

8。主が彼らをそこから地の全面に散らされたので、彼らはその町を建てるのをやめた。

 

9. 그러므로 그 이름을 바벨이라 하니 이는 여호와께서 거기서 온 땅의 언어를 혼잡하게 하셨음이니라 여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨더라

9. That is why it was called Babel--because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

9。それゆえ、その町の名はバベルと呼ばれた。そこで主が全地の話しことばを混乱させ、そこから主が人々を地の全面に散らされたからである。

 

10. 셈의 족보는 이러하니라 셈은 백 세 곧 홍수 후 이 년에 아르박삿을 낳았고

10. This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.

10。これはセムの歴史である。セムは百歳のとき、アルパクシャデを生んだ。それは大洪水の二年後のことであった。

 

11. 아르박삿을 낳은 후에 오백 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

11. And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.

11。セムはアルパクシャデを生んでから五百年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

12. 아르박삿은 삼십오 세에 셀라를 낳았고

12. When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah.

12。アルパクシャデは三十五年生きて、シェラフを生んだ。

 

13. 셀라를 낳은 후에 사백삼 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

13. And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

13。アルパクシャデはシェラフを生んでから四百三年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

14. 셀라는 삼십 세에 에벨을 낳았고

14. When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber.

14。シェラフは三十年生きて、エベルを生んだ。

 

15. 에벨을 낳은 후에 사백삼 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

15. And after he became the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

15。シェラフはエベルを生んでから四百三年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

16. 에벨은 삼십사 세에 벨렉을 낳았고

16. When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg.

16。エベルは三十四年生きて、ペレグを生んだ。

 

17. 벨렉을 낳은 후에 사백삼십 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

17. And after he became the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.

17。エベルはペレグを生んでから四百三十年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

18. 벨렉은 삼십 세에 르우를 낳았고

18. When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu.

18。ペレグは三十年生きて、レウを生んだ。

 

19. 르우를 낳은 후에 이백구 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

19. And after he became the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.

19。ペレグはレウを生んでから二百九年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

20. 르우는 삼십이 세에 스룩을 낳았고

20. When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug.

20。レウは三十二年生きて、セルグを生んだ。

 

21. 스룩을 낳은 후에 이백칠 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

21. And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.

21。レウはセルグを生んでから二百七年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

22. 스룩은 삼십 세에 나홀을 낳았고

22. When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.

22。セルグは三十年生きて、ナホルを生んだ。

 

23. 나홀을 낳은 후에 이백 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

23. And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.

23。セルグはナホルを生んでから二百年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

24. 나홀은 이십구 세에 데라를 낳았고

24. When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.

24。ナホルは二十九年生きて、テラを生んだ。

 

25. 데라를 낳은 후에 백십구 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며

25. And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.

25。ナホルはテラを生んでから百十九年生き、息子たち、娘たちを生んだ。

 

26. 데라는 칠십 세에 아브람과 나홀과 하란을 낳았더라

26. After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

26。テラは七十年生きて、アブラムとナホルとハランを生んだ。

 

27. 데라의 족보는 이러하니라 데라는 아브람과 나홀과 하란을 낳고 하란은 롯을 낳았으며

27. This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.

27。これはテラの歴史である。テラはアブラム、ナホル、ハランを生み、ハランはロトを生んだ。

 

28. 하란은 그 아비 데라보다 먼저 고향 갈대아인의 우르에서 죽었더라

28. While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.

28。ハランは父テラに先立って、親族の地であるカルデア人のウルで死んだ。

 

29. 아브람과 나홀이 장가 들었으니 아브람의 아내의 이름은 사래며 나홀의 아내의 이름은 밀가니 하란의 딸이요 하란은 밀가의 아버지이며 또 이스가의 아버지더라

29. Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah.

29。アブラムとナホルは妻を迎えた。アブラムの妻の名はサライであった。ナホルの妻の名はミルカといって、ハランの娘であった。ハランはミルカの父、またイスカの父であった。

 

30. 사래는 임신하지 못하므로 자식이 없었더라

30. Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.

30。サライは不妊の女で、彼女には子がいなかった。

 

31. 데라가 그 아들 아브람과 하란의 아들인 그의 손자 롯과 그의 며느리 아브람의 아내 사래를 데리고 갈대아인의 우르를 떠나 가나안 땅으로 가고자 하더니 하란에 이르러 거기 거류하였으며

31. Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.

31。テラは、その息子アブラムと、ハランの子である孫のロトと、息子アブラムの妻である嫁のサライを伴い、カナンの地に行くために、一緒にカルデア人のウルを出発した。しかし、ハランまで来ると、彼らはそこに住んだ。

 

32. 데라는 나이가 이백오 세가 되어 하란에서 죽었더라

32. Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.

32。テラの生涯は二百五年であった。テラはハランで死んだ。
