1. 사랑하는 자들아 내가 이제 이 둘째 편지를 너희에게 쓰노니 이 두 편지로 너희의 진실한 마음을 일깨워 생각나게 하여

1. Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.

1。愛する者たち、私はすでに二通目となる手紙を、あなたがたに書いています。これらの手紙により、私はあなたがたの記憶を呼び覚まして、純真な心を奮い立たせたいのです。

 

2. 곧 거룩한 선지자들이 예언한 말씀과 주 되신 구주께서 너희의 사도들로 말미암아 명하신 것을 기억하게 하려 하노라

2. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

2。それは、聖なる預言者たちにより前もって語られたみことばと、あなたがたの使徒たちにより伝えられた、主であり救い主である方の命令を思い出させるためです。

 

3. 먼저 이것을 알지니 말세에 조롱하는 자들이 와서 자기의 정욕을 따라 행하며 조롱하여

3. First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

3。まず第一に、心得ておきなさい。終わりの時に、嘲る者たちが現れて嘲り、自分たちの欲望に従いながら、

 

4. 이르되 주께서 강림하신다는 약속이 어디 있느냐 조상들이 잔 후로부터 만물이 처음 창조될 때와 같이 그냥 있다 하니

4. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

4。こう言います。「彼の来臨の約束はどこにあるのか。父たちが眠りについた後も、すべてが創造のはじめからのままではないか。」

 

5. 이는 하늘이 옛적부터 있는 것과 땅이 물에서 나와 물로 성립된 것도 하나님의 말씀으로 된 것을 그들이 일부러 잊으려 함이로다

5. But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

5。こう主張する彼らは、次のことを見落としています。天は大昔からあり、地は神のことばによって、水から出て、水を通して成ったのであり、

 

6. 이로 말미암아 그 때에 세상은 물이 넘침으로 멸망하였으되

6. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

6。そのみことばのゆえに、当時の世界は水におおわれて滅びました。

 

7. 이제 하늘과 땅은 그 동일한 말씀으로 불사르기 위하여 보호하신 바 되어 경건하지 아니한 사람들의 심판과 멸망의 날까지 보존하여 두신 것이니라

7. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for life, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

7。しかし、今ある天と地は、同じみことばによって、火で焼かれるために取っておかれ、不敬虔な者たちのさばきと滅びの日まで保たれているのです。

 

8. 사랑하는 자들아 주께는 하루가 천 년 같고 천 년이 하루 같다는 이 한 가지를 잊지 말라

8. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

8。しかし、愛する人たち、あなたがたはこの一つのことを見落としてはいけません。主の御前では、一日は千年のようであり、千年は一日のようです。

 

9. 주의 약속은 어떤 이들이 더디다고 생각하는 것 같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 주께서는 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망하지 아니하고 다 회개하기에 이르기를 원하시느니라

9. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

9。主は、ある人たちが遅れていると思っているように、約束したことを遅らせているのではなく、あなたがたに対して忍耐しておられるのです。だれも滅びることがなく、すべての人が悔い改めに進むことを望んでおられるのです。

 

10. 그러나 주의 날이 도둑 같이 오리니 그 날에는 하늘이 큰 소리로 떠나가고 물질이 뜨거운 불에 풀어지고 땅과 그 중에 있는 모든 일이 드러나리로다

10. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

10。しかし、主の日は盗人のようにやって来ます。その日、天は大きな響きを立てて消え去り、天の万象は焼けて崩れ去り、地と地にある働きはなくなってしまいます。

 

11. 이 모든 것이 이렇게 풀어지리니 너희가 어떠한 사람이 되어야 마땅하냐 거룩한 행실과 경건함으로 

11. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

11。このように、これらすべてのものが崩れ去るのだとすれば、あなたがたは、どれほど聖なる敬虔な生き方をしなければならないことでしょう。

 

12. 하나님의 날이 임하기를 바라보고 간절히 사모하라 그 날에 하늘이 불에 타서 풀어지고 물질이 뜨거운 불에 녹아지려니와

12. as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

12。そのようにして、神の日が来るのを待ち望み、到来を早めなければなりません。その日の到来によって、天は燃え崩れ、天の万象は焼け溶けてしまいます。

 

13. 우리는 그의 약속대로 의가 있는 곳인 새 하늘과 새 당을 바라보도다

13. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

13。しかし私たちは、神の約束にしたがって、義の宿る新しい天と新しい地を待ち望んでいます。

 

14. 그러므로 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 이것을 바라보나니 주 앞에서 점도 없고 흠도 없이 평강 가운데서 나타나기를 힘쓰라

14. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

14。ですから、愛する者たち。これらのことを待ち望んでいるのなら、しみも傷もない者として平安のうちに神に見出していただけるように努力しなさい。

 

15. 또 우리 주의 오래 참으심이 구원이 될 줄로 여기라 우리가 사랑하는 형제 바울도 그 받은 지혜대로 너희에게 이같이 썼고

15. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

15。また、私たちの主の忍耐は救いであると考えなさい。愛する、私たちの兄弟パウロも、自分に与えられた知恵にしたがって、あなたがたに書き送ったとおりです。

 

16. 또 그 모든 편지에도 이런 일에 관하여 말하였으되 그 중에 알기 어려운 것이 더러 있으니 무식한 자들과 굳세지 못한 자들이 다른 성경과 같이 그것도 억지로 풀다가 스스로 멸망에 이르느니라

16. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

16。その手紙でパウロは、ほかのすべての手紙でもしているように、このことについて語っています。その中には理解しにくいところがあります。無知な、心の定まらない人たちは、聖書の他の箇所と同様、それらを曲解して、自分自身に滅びを招きます。

 

17. 그러므로 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 이것을 미리 알았은즉 무법한 자들의 미혹에 이끌려 너희가 굳센 데서 떨어질까 삼가라

17. Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.

17。ですから、愛する者たち。あなたがたは前もって分かっているのですから、不道徳な者たちの惑わしに誘い込まれて、自分自身の堅実さを失わないよう、よく気をつけなさい。

 

18. 오직 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 그를 아는 지식에서 자라 가라 영광이 이제와 영원한 날까지 그에게 있을지어다

18. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

18。私たちの主であり、救い主であるイエス・キリストの恵みと知識において成長しなさい。イエス・キリストに栄光が、今も永遠の日に至るまでもありますように。
