1. 유순한 대답은 분노를 쉬게 하여도 과격한 말은 노를 격동하느니라

1. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

1。柔らかな答えは憤りを鎮め、激しいことばは怒りをあおる。

 

2. 지혜 있는 자의 혀는 지식을 선히 베풀고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 쏟느니라

2. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

2。知恵のある者の舌は知識をうまく用い、愚かな者の口は愚かさを吐き出す。

 

3. 여호와의 눈은 어디서든지 악인과 선인을 감찰하시느니라

3. The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

3。主の目はどこにもあり、悪人と善人を見張っている。

 

4. 온순한 혀는 곧 생명 나무이지만 패역한 혀는 마음을 상하게 하느니라

4. The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

4。穏やかな舌はいのちの木。舌のねじれは霊の破れ。

 

5. 아비의 훈계를 업신여기는 자는 미련한 자요 경계를 받는 자는 슬기를 얻을 자니라

5. A fool spurns his fathers discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.

5。愚か者は自分の父の訓戒を侮る。叱責を大事にする者は賢くなる。

 

6. 의인의 집에는 많은 보물이 있어도 악인의 소득은 고통이 되느니라

6. The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.

6。正しい人の家には多くの富がある。悪しき者の収穫はわざわいをもたらす。

 

7. 지혜로운 자의 입술은 지식을 전파하여도 미련한 자의 마음은 정함이 없느니라

7. The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools.

7。知恵のある者の唇は知識を広める。愚かな者の心はそうではない。

 

8. 악인의 제사는 여호와께서 미워하셔도 정직한 자의 기도는 그가 기뻐하시느니라

8. The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

8。悪者のいけにえは主に忌み嫌われ、心の直ぐな人の祈りは主に受け入れられる。

 

9. 악인의 길은 여호와께서 미워하셔도 공의를 따라가는 자는 그가 사랑하시느니라

9. The LORD detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness.

9。主は悪しき者の道を忌み嫌い、義を追い求める者を愛される。

 

10. 도를 배반하는 자는 엄한 징계를 받을 것이요 견책을 싫어하는 자는 죽을 것이니라

10. Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.

10。道を捨てる者には厳しい懲らしめがあり、叱責を憎む者は死に至る。

 

11. 스올과 아바돈도 여호와의 앞에 드러나거든 하물며 사람의 마음이리요

11. Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD — how much more the hearts of men!

11。よみと滅びの淵は主の前にある。人の子らの心はなおさらのこと。

 

12. 거만한 자는 견책 받기를 좋아하지 아니하며 지혜 있는 자에게로 가지도 아니하느니라

12. A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise.

12。嘲る者は叱られることを好まない。知恵のある者にも近づかない。

 

13. 마음의 즐거움은 얼굴을 빛나게 하여도 마음의 근심은 심령을 상하게 하느니라

13. A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

13。喜んでいる心は、顔色を良くする。心の痛みの中には、打ちひしがれた霊がある。

 

14. 명철한 자의 마음은 지식을 요구하고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 즐기느니라

14. The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

14。悟りのある者の心は知識を求めるが、愚かな者の口は愚かさを食いあさる。

 

15. 고난 받는 자는 그 날이 다 험악하나 마음이 즐거운 자는 항상 잔치하느니라

15. All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

15。悩み苦しむ者の毎日は悪いことのみ。心に楽しみのある人には毎日が祝宴。

 

16. 가산이 적어도 여호와를 경외하는 것이 크게 부하고 번뇌하는 것보다 나으니라

16. Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil.

16。わずかな物を持って主を恐れることは、豊かな財宝を持って混乱するよりも良い。

 

17. 채소를 먹으며 서로 사랑하는 것이 살진 소를 먹으며 서로 미워하는 것보다 나으니라

17. Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.

17。野菜を食べて愛し合うのは、肥えた牛を食べて憎み合うのにまさる。

 

18. 분을 쉽게 내는 자는 다툼을 일으켜도 노하기를 더디 하는 자는 시비를 그치게 하느니라

18. A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.

18。激しやすい者は口論を引き起こし、怒りを遅くする者は争い事を鎮める。

 

19. 게으른 자의 길은 가시 울타리 같으나 정직한 자의 길은 대로니라

19. The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

19。怠け者の道は茨の生け垣のよう。直ぐな人の進む道は平らな大路。

 

20. 지혜로운 아들은 아비를 즐겁게 하여도 미련한 자는 어미를 업신여기느니라

20. A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

20。知恵のある子は父を喜ばせ、愚かな人はその母を蔑む。

 

21. 무지한 자는 미련한 것을 즐겨 하여도 명철한 자는 그 길을 바르게 하느니라

21. Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.

21。良識のない者には愚かさが喜び。英知のある者はまっすぐ歩む。

 

22. 의논이 없으면 경영이 무너지고 지략이 많으면 경영이 성립하느니라

22. Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

22。よく相談しなければ、計画は倒れる。多くの助言者によって、それは成功する。

 

23. 사람은 그 입의 대답으로 말미암아 기쁨을 얻나니 때에 맞는 말이 얼마나 아름다운고

23. A man finds joy in giving an apt reply — and how good is a timely word!

23。適切な返事をすることは、その人の喜び。時宜にかなったことばは、なんと麗しいことか。

 

24. 지혜로운 자는 위로 향한 생명 길로 말미암음으로 그 아래에 있는 스올을 떠나게 되느니라

24. The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave.

24。賢明な者はいのちの道を上って行く。下にあるよみから離れるためだ。

 

25. 여호와는 교만한 자의 집을 허시며 과부의 지계를 정하시느니라

25. The LORD tears down the proud mans house but he keeps the widows boundaries intact.

25。主は高ぶる者の家を根こそぎにし、やもめの地境を決める。

 

26. 악한 꾀는 여호와께서 미워하시나 선한 말은 정결하니라

26. The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

26。悪人の計画は主に忌み嫌われる。親切なことばは、きよい。

 

27. 이익을 탐하는 자는 자기 집을 해롭게 하나 뇌물을 싫어하는 자는 살게 되느니라

27. A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.

27。利得を貪る者は自分の家族を困らせ、賄賂を憎む者は生きながらえる。

 

28. 의인의 마음은 대답할 말을 깊이 생각하여도 악인의 입은 악을 쏟느니라

28. The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.

28。正しい人の心は、どう答えるかを思い巡らす。悪しき者の口は悪を吐き出す。

 

29. 여호와는 악인을 멀리 하시고 의인의 기도를 들으시느니라

29. The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

29。主は悪しき者から遠くにおられ、正しい人の祈りを聞かれる。

 

30. 눈이 밝은 것은 마음을 기쁘게 하고 좋은 기별은 뼈를 윤택하게 하느니라

30. A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

30。目の光は心を喜ばせ、良い知らせは人を健やかにする。

 

31. 생명의 경계를 듣는 귀는 지혜로운 자 가운데에 있느니라

31. He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.

31。いのちに至る叱責を聞く耳は、知恵のある者の間に宿る。

 

32. 훈계 받기를 싫어하는 자는 자기의 영혼을 경히 여김이라 견책을 달게 받는 자는 지식을 얻느니라

32. He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

32。訓戒を無視する者は自分自身をないがしろにする。叱責を聞き入れる者は良識を得る。

 

33. 여호와를 경외하는 것은 지혜의 훈계라 겸손은 존귀의 길잡이니라

33. The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

33。主を恐れることは知恵の訓戒。謙遜は栄誉に先立つ。
